ANTARCTICA
On your travels through Antarctica please complete the following:
1. Complete the Just
the Facts information sheet, put it in your travel duo-tang.
2. Brrrrrr!!! It’s
cold in Antarctica! Take a day trip to Antarctica and find out the temperature.
Make sure to send a post card and let everyone know how cold it is. Use the
postcard template with the thermometer, fill it in, colour it, stick it to a
postcard backing and write a short message about your visit. Put it in your
souvenir box.
3. All penguins live
in the Southern Hemisphere (south of the equator). They live in climates
ranging from the warm tropics to the frigid Antarctic. These defenseless birds
usually live on predator-free islands or on remote parts of a continent. Some
penguins, like the Emperor Penguin, live on pack ice in Antarctica. Follow the
instructions to make your own penguin for a momentum of your visit to the
Antarctic. Put your penguin on display.
4. Animal in the
Antarctic have to adapt to the very harsh and extreme environment. Animals need
to have a whole range of specializations to be able to take advantage of these
conditions. Find out about an animal in Antarctica and the adaptations these
animals must make in order to survive. Fill out the sheet and put it in your
travel duotang.
